Don't tell Scarlet, but I love you too.

It's good to feel the burn. Just don't fall in it.
Next year's Edinburgh Marathon - just do it!
22 July 2011 at 12:26
Dave - Shhshht...I won't tell her...
Rog - Erm..yeah... or, like wee Nancy Reagan I could always just say no.
22 July 2011 at 12:29
Running?!?
Is the bridge far away?
22 July 2011 at 13:17
Mr Mago - Erm, yes, running. Which is a startling new development. Luckily the bridge is (a) close but (b) high sided

1. I love dialogue in the vernacular.
2. So poignant. I send you a long-distance hug...

My brother was a national athletics coach who always advised that if you are not in training for competition, don't jog, walk fast----better for the joints and you use more muscles--(I never understood the better for the joints bit--personally, I dont smoke dope)
I thought of you this morning, walking my labby on the beach---lost count of the border collies at about 25--they're everywhere.
Oh, and if that was pure vernacular, shouldn't that have been "mither"
23 July 2011 at 10:20
Clyde talks sense.
Careful not to overdo it. Walking's best.
23 July 2011 at 13:39
And did you feel better after the run? Will you be running again?
23 July 2011 at 18:17
I used to run, but never got that "runner's high" they talk about. Maybe I was doing it wrong.
23 July 2011 at 18:19
Running? Why? Were you being chased by a saber toothed tiger? In my head that's the only reason to run.
More hugs for you my darling.
23 July 2011 at 20:58
Running? woah nelly...impressive...
23 July 2011 at 21:50
Running? RUNNING? Are you mad woman? I last ran in about 1987
24 July 2011 at 17:10
I used to run marathons. Now I just run when Scarlet's around. Away, you understand. She has a terrible right hook.
25 July 2011 at 11:55
Clyde - I keep seeing collies too. I keep trying not to!
And no, "mither" is a bother or fuss, as in "Ah'm nae mithered.." Tsk
Pat - It's OK, I'm making sure I don't get breathless, which seems to be the benchmark for overdoing it.
Nick - Yep. I feel stupid walking without a dog and lazy not doing any exercise.
lx - Nah me neither. Though I do a nice ine in "Runner's Smug".
Roses - I just need to do something with that time in the day when I'd normally walk Ned.
Libby - What would be impressive is if this carries on!
Wylye Girl - Yeah, there's a few things I didn't see coming this year....running's the least of it..
Dave - Sighs.. yeah...goes with the (whisper it) red hair

Good for you!!! I hope the bridge is the Forth Bridge. Ha!
When I'm on the treadmill I like to pretend I'm famous and being interviewed for my athletic feats of amazingness as I jog along looking smug. And sweating into my shoes. And thinking of the pizza I will consume when I get off.
