VOTING IS CLOSED
Am I the only one in blog land who starts blogs, hell, even finishes blogs, but then decides not to post them?Am I?
Is this a stupid question??
Look, I've got an ever growing list of unpublished blog entries... updates doomed to wilt unseen on my Blogger dashboard. Entries that I re-read and thought, nah..too gloomy, or half cooked, or (hivvins!) derivative... blog entries I might want to save for later...
Entries that my sensible self has decided shouldn't get published...
Sensible self - I see where this is going Macy, and I think it shouldn't
But, ignoring my better (sensible) self, I had the brilliant wheeze of putting it to the readers
Sensible Self - Both of them??
Yes. We will have a vote. I've listed out four of my as yet unpublished missives. The deal is, you can only vote once. All votes are anonymous, and the one that gets the most votes will get published!
Sensible Self. And if you get no votes you will desist???
Nah. I'll choose...
Here we go, what should get published?
Sensible Self - (Sighs) I think it's a good thing you didn't offer the option of None of Them

Ooh this is exciting now. Of course, after all this hype, the winning post will have to be a belter, which might be pushing it if you didn't press the 'publish' button in the first place. But you've got me hooked so am ready to read!

Giant clearance sale: all of them!

Trish - Aaahhh I didn't think of that winning post having to be a belter sort of thing...
Heads off to start polishing up the unpublished...
Lx - No no no no that would be a Grand Closing Down Sale! And I'm not ready for that kind of a close down yet...

We all like a good rant, Macy.
And we want the one AFTER you've met Dave. Just to prove you are still around etc of course....

Is this not more of an Autumn clean that Spring---although, if you were here it would be spring---

Rog - I am checking the apps on my iphone to see if I can't blog during the blog meet
There could be a few advantages to this.
Clyde - Oh see what I did there? I got all international... or maybe it's just wishful thiking seeing's how we never got a summer here.

My one criteria for publishing an entry is, is it stupid or not. Needless to say, I have a bunch of unpublished entries.

Jerry - Hey Blog Swap! I'll swap you a couple of mine, and publish a couple of yours.. everyone's going to be really impressed with photos of the Edinburgh desert!

I polled now ... sounds a bit like shitting pants ...

You forgot the 'All of the Above' button.
I'd like to read all of it.
10 September 2011 at 16:18
63Mago THAT was not an option....!
Roses - Maybe I should be in advertising? Remember thse are the ones that didn't pass quality control the first time....

I had to choose Charlie because he's dear to my heart but the first was a very close second.
I often dismiss posts that are in my mind but if I have actually taken the trouble to write them my finger hits publish before I can spit.

Ooh, a toss-up between the rant and the dead man. In the end I thought the second was more intriguing, since I've never done such a clear-out. And I want to know the twist.
I've also written posts and discarded them (though not that many) for being too gloomy/ half-baked/ crazy/ boring/ based on distinctly unreliable sources. And the ones about Jenny that would embarrass her so much she'd refuse to speak to me for a month.

I didn't know I was meant to do quality control before posting, so I never store things up. I just scribble whatever I find interesting and hit publish (and be damned).
Am I allowed to vote more than once, cos I really want to read them all. The closing down sale can be averted by writing a fifth one.

Amusing results, your readers obviously trust you to choose the one they're going to want to read the most !
So let's hear it then (although I'd still like to hear about clearing out the flat) :)

Pat - Indeedies, for such a self proclaimed pain in the arse, he's got a lot of friends.
Probably because he's got such a generous heart. But don't tell him I said that.
Nick - See what I did there? I gave you a real dilemma to ponder on for Saturday afternoon!
Tim - Nopety nope. No multiple voting. You're going to have to do the quality control thing over your voting, if not your blogging...
Jenny - It is spooky how the votes are going how I want them to go isn't it? I didsay no pressure

Well I'm on tenterhooks now (and its not a comfortable experience, I can promise you). When do we get to find out?

Curry Queen - Good question as to when this finishes. I thought there might turn out to be one real unanimous favourite, but we seem to have a bit of a tie here.
I think I'll call it a day tonight. If that makes sense.
11 September 2011 at 19:54
it's a tie right now- excellent!
you've reminded me that you gave me a meme to do a while ago... hmmm

Speccy!!!! Are you manipulating this along with that silent reader over in Japan to ensure you get two posts for the price of one????
