It's been a hard week, and it's been a long week, and at some point I'll get round to writing about it.
There have been lies, and nastiness and a long running deception was uncovered.
One blog pal has already been upset enough to give up her blog.
Whilst those others who have found out are feeling out of love with blogging right now.
For once, I'm not joking.
To answer one "commentator" on another blog post: No Jane I am not having a laugh.
So it's good to leave that behind and refocus.
I found Haricot's blog a while back, and I've been enjoying the calm. I love the detail of Japanese life. I love the poetry.
Haricot's agreed that I can link to her blog. And I'm going to be heading over to Haricot's anytime I need calm reflection.
I hope you'll join me there.

If only everyone was that calm ...
26 October 2011 at 22:49
Tim - And living in the moment. Unfortunately, being calm's not one of my talents.

Macy
Thank you for having linked with my blog.
I'm clumsy person and not quite "calm", thogh I'm glad that my posts brought somehow calmness.
27 October 2011 at 07:44
Haricot - Now you may think you're clumsy, but your meditations on the changing seasons, and details of Japanese life are lovely.
I especially liked the tea ceremony and the making of cushions.

Morning my darling. It's not a great week, is it?
But we're all still hanging in there, together, which is all that matters.

Roses - Indeedy, And if our circle of friends is smaller, then at least the friends are better.

Chocolates?

I gathered there was something unpleasant going on, something to do with blog meets, but apart from that I'm totally in the dark. It's sad when someone feels disturbed enough to want to give up blogging (or go invitation only). Personally I've never had any nasty experiences in nearly five years of blogging, but then my blogmates are all such lovely, sensitive people!
I like Haricot's blog too. As you say, very calming and soothing.

I've read the whole story now on Scarlet's blog, and a pretty sickening story it is. Does a guy really think it's cool to pretend to be a female blogger?
27 October 2011 at 17:58
Gosh Macy...don't know what any of this hoo-haa is all about but don't go 'invitation only' on me will you?...feel better x
27 October 2011 at 20:57
LX - Yes please!
Nick - It was unpleasant. But it is only one person. I'm glad you liked Haricot's blog. It's a breath of fresh air after all the nonsense over the past week.
Scarlet - And LX has brought chocolates!
Libby - No plans to go invitation only Libby! Most of my regular bloggy pals like yourself are genuinely *goodies*. And this is what I need to remember.

I really struggle to understand why/how some people get so arsey over others' blogs. I write for the pleasure of it and, if anyone doesn't like it, they are welcome to feck off and never read it again. Face? Bovvered? Hope things calm down for you soon.
28 October 2011 at 06:49
Curry Queen - Agreed about this strange tendency for arsey comments. In this case, though, it was a blogger pretending to be someone else.
28 October 2011 at 12:10
I love the peace of this place---you can have a rant, but in the end, it's over
I will never understand the wars of the blogs
At times, being anonymous is cowardly, but to prentend to be someone else is cowardly and decceitful
28 October 2011 at 22:51
Oh that sounds really worrying. Have not had a horrible comment yet - though I always welcome constructive criticism - sad to hear that. Just popped over to your friend's very tranquill place...
29 October 2011 at 17:26
Clyde - Absolutely. To pretend to be someone else, and then forge a friendship on that basis is unbelievable.
About Last Weekend - It did really upset quite a few people - those thought they had known this particular blogger for some years.

I've been offline for a week and now I'm back I find three of the blogs on my list have closed down /been removed. Sounds like something nasty is going on. I'm sorry it has affected you. I like Haricot's blog, too.
30 October 2011 at 10:25
Jenny - I was only aware of two blogs which turned out to have the same author. In one he was impersonating a cancer sufferer. I hope there wasn't a third...
I thought Haricot's blog was a lovely antidote to all the deceit and manipulation going on. I'm glad you liked it.

I'm just about speechless. Just so sorry that you and your wonderful friends had such nastiness to contend with.
